So, the first couple of days we did ministry we were just teaching in the villages. Then, on Wednesday we got to spend time with a few of the families in the villages. The first family that we got to see lived outside of the village. We got to walk through a flooded road and rice field to get to their house. Which was fun, because a couple of us got stuck in the mud and tripped. Anyways, when we got there we ate lunch with the family. Then, we did worship and Bible study. It was so good! They have a 3 year old little girl and she is so spiritually mature. She sang a whole worship song by herself and prayed for wisdom and discernment. My mind was blown as her words were being translated to us. Her and her sister help their parents remember all the Bible stories that they learn. It’s so amazing to see the Holy Spirit moving in such a young girl and in her environment. I will never forget her. We also visited an elderly lady who was a buddhist her whole life and had just burned her spirit house and idols that day. Praise the Lord! She is now raising her grandson, teaching him about Jesus and inspiring other people in the village to learn more about christianity. She is seriously one of the sweetest and most joyous humans I have ever met.I have had the best time getting to know the people there. They don’t have much, but they are so generous with what they do have. That was how the first week of ministry went. Then, this last week we got to do street evangelism. Going into evangelism I was very nervous, because I didn’t know how to approach it or how people would react. So, I started the week off with a lot of prayer and seeking. Once we got out to talk to people the Holy Spirit kept presenting opportunities. We got to know people and started to form relationships with them. A lot of them even let us pray over them! One guy that I got to talk to was Mr. Yan. He’s a tuk tuk driver and he has 4 kids. He wants me to help him with his English so he can create more business with tourists and provide more for his kids. He is so so sweet. It was amazing to see my perspective on evangelism shift this week. Moral of the story is cast your worries on the Lord and He will provide. “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy ,and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30. This next week I get to go back to the village, so I am so excited to see everyone there again. Also, the water festival (aka Bon Om Touk) is this week. If you don’t know what that is, it’s a celebration for the end of monsoon season. It’s basically a fair and a gigantic water fight all over Cambodia. I’m so excited!! I’m gonna vlog it, so make sure you keep up with my instagram!
Until next time…
